WHO ARE POWER LEARNING STUDENTS?

* Students entering 5th - 12th grades.
* Students who want to achieve higher test scores in class or on SAT, ACT, PSAT, or SSAT tests.
* Students who want more than the basics taught in school, including critical thinking, reading, and writing skills.

Power Learning worshops don't narrowly focus on test preparation. Rather, students build intellectual and academic skills which allow them to excel not only on tests, but in all academic endeavors. Located in the heart of the University of Illinois campus, two focused weeks at English Center USA can inspire young adults to a lifetime of excellence!
   
Choose Programs THREE POWER LEARNING WORKSHOPS

THE PERFECT ESSAY
Students explore basic writing formats and learn to choose the most appropriate one for any essay.  Overcome "Research Paper Anxiety" with simple Power Learning tools for conductcing research, confidently answer any essay question on a standardized tests using the "Never Fail" essay format.

CRITICAL THINKING & READING
Students improve reading comprehension to better understand challenging texts and author's intent, develop critical thinking skills using the inquiry-based Socratic method, and learn how to weigh the pros and cons of different "right" answers.
GRAMMAR & PUNCTUATION
Students discover the underlying grammatical structure of sentences, learn simple steps to immediately improve their grammar, and master five methods to repair the most common sentence problems.

  Morning Sessions: 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Afternoon Sessions: 1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Would you prefer your student to attend the workshops:
June 13 -- June 23 In the morning only
June 27 -- July 8 (class meets July 8, not July 5) In the afternoon only
July 11 -- July 21 Both morning and afternoon
July 14 -- August 4 No preference
